A note from Amy
Mr. Long,
I was about 12 years old when I first went to one of your concerts; it was for my birthday. It was a wonderful experience; my family always turns up the radio when it's you on. Anyway... I am writing because I wanted to let you know that through your music Christ has been able to encourage me. Several
times within my life I have fallen short to glorify Him with my life; I would be feeling discouraged with things and then out of the blue Christ would send me a little reminder through your music. I appreciate the words of your songs for this... more recently, today I was feeling very discouraged and upset. See, my younger sister is now 19 and in the "experimental" age that college students fall into. She called me last night at midnight crying despirately to come "home", saying that she doesn't want to be apart of that lifestyle anymore, but feels as though she has no control. I wanted to "baby" her and take her home, but she lives so far away from me that all I can do is talk with her and pray, pray, pray!! I was driving to work this time when God used your music. I felt so comforted; I was also able to call Ashley (my sis) and remind her of the wonderful times that we had at your concert- this small 2 and a 1/2 minute song... well, it made us able to laugh together (we'd come home singing the songs all night). This may not seem like a big deal to you, but it truly is - your words encouraged me and the song lifted our families spirits. I have been wanting to write to you to say thank you for a long time... so here it is. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALLOWING GOD TO USE YOU! Your selfless attitude to HIS WILL has changed lives, encouraged people when they are feeling all too despirate, and countless others things that I cannot even fathom. I know that for myslef it may not always seem as though the things that we do are impacting others, so please just know that you have impacted me and my entire family. This may not be very articulate, but it does come from my heart. Thank you very much and Merry Christmas!
Amy
